Skydiving has been at the center of Kristian Caulder’s life for over 20 years. He made his first jump at Skydive Perris in 2003 and was instantly hooked. Six months later, he sold everything in his apartment, bought a beat-up 1978 Dodge camper van, and moved to the Perris dropzone, where he ended up living for the next five years—spending nearly every penny he earned on more skydives.

Kristian was drawn to the vertical freefly scene, which was peaking in Perris at the time, so his first 1,500 jumps were primarily focused on vertical flying. In 2007, he purchased his first camera setup and began filming tandems and pick-up 4-way FS teams. That eventually led to filming more advanced 4-way and 8-way competition teams, which naturally opened the door to big-way filming and other projects.

As they say, the rest is history. Kristian is incredibly fortunate to call Skydive Perris his home dropzone—it’s been an extraordinary place to learn and grow in the sport, and with so much always happening, it’s a constant source of inspiration for video and photography.
