We are proud to introduce our new tandem canopy – The TX2!
Dropzone owners and tandem instructors are agreeing that the TX2 is the best possible tool for any tandem operation. Years of testing and innovation have been assembled in this completely new TX2 design that will be the top choice for instructors, riggers, DZOs, packers and passengers alike.
The launch of the S-Fire a few months earlier introduced the world to innovative design features such as Parabolic Reinforcement Tapes (PRT), 2ⁿᵈ generation of Enhanced Ram Air Stabilizers (ERAS²), and Shape Correlation for Inlet Distribution (SCID). ICARUS has integrated these elements of using the elasticity of the fabric to its’ advantage which in turn eliminates upper surface distortion and airfoil deformation, and eradicating panel flutter while simultaneously reducing the wing tip vortices are just the beginning.
Consistently soft on-heading openings are a feature that was at the forefront when designing this wing. SCID has made each TX2 naturally inflate from the center cell outward, which results in consistent on-heading openings and no need to compensate with stretchable lines. This is a key for instructors and passengers to enjoy their experience and be able to jump numerous times day after day, year after year. We realize the importance of a comfortable reliable opening sequence every time.
The TX2 is incredibly reactive to control input and gives more feedback through turns while allowing the pilot to feel a stronger connection to the wing. There is light control line pressure, so this allows for a preferred experience by passengers as well as instructors.
The Reduced Drogue Loading System is one of the highlights of this system. It is an intelligent design to carry the loads generated by the drogue, while bypassing the canopy structure itself. Two lines routed through the canopy actually transfer the load directly to the central suspension lines, which avoids stressing the canopy fabric during deployment. Less stress on the wing and less reinforcement of the drogue attachment point results in more durability and decreased canopy weight and bulk!
The TX2 was created through a 3D planform design, and doesn’t fall short with regards to impressive glide and a short recovery arc. Both the crossport reinforcements and the change in the line set configuration due to the ERAS² actively extend the life of the wing as well. The TX2 is available in the standard 6&2 Brake Configuration without a brake setting, which eases the packing process.
The TX2 is clearly the reliable, durable and superior choice for your operation.
*Recommendation: Make your canopy selection based on canopy performance characteristics according to parachutist skills and activity.
** Pack Volumes are for reference purposes only. Figures could vary +‐ 10% or more depending on climate conditions, storage, use degradation, packing techniques and environment.

Our current estimated lead time for our sport production line is 11 weeks, depending on fabric availability. It’s possible that they may pull yours for production in as little as 6 weeks! Tandem TX2 production is a around 8 weeks. With that being said, we expect our 2023 average lead time to be maintained as low as 10 weeks. Why or how you may ask? Well, last year we doubled the production line for the TX2’s and we hope to do it again this year.
We all know that the world is in short supply of products, and it is no different for canopy fabric. Therefore, we have gone ahead and included current unavailable colors on the 3D design program. We did this in hopes that by the time your canopy is up for production we may have the fabric, if not, we will reach out and see if you want to change some, or all of the colors so we may keep moving on. There may also be a chance that if the fabric gods line up just perfectly, meaning the factory runs out of a certain combination of colors, then they will pull from were ever they can to keep the floor in action. This may be an order that has only been in the queue for just 2 weeks!
